Resonance HR Law is a growing multidisciplinary firm working at the intersection of employment/labour law, HR strategy, conflict resolution, and organizational development. The Opportunity
This is a practice-building role. We are looking for an experienced practitioner, whether a lawyer, consultant, investigator, mediator, arbitrator, or organizational development professional, who has spent their career advising external clients and is ready to grow their practice within a collaborative multidisciplinary firm.
If you have built, or are actively building, a client base and want the infrastructure, referral network, and collegial support of an established firm behind you, this role was designed for you.
Compensation, including any arrangement related to an existing book of business, will be discussed individually with candidates as part of the interview process.

Workplace investigations and assessments
Employment/labour law
ADR, mediation, and conflict resolution
Organizational development and change management
Culture reviews and governance work
Labour arbitration
What You Will Do
Serve and grow your own client relationships within the Resonance platform
Advise clients on complex people and workplace issues
Lead workplace assessments and investigations
Facilitate mediation, ADR, and conflict resolution processes
Contribute to business development, thought leadership, and the firm's presence in Atlantic Canada
Expand into new practice areas with mentorship and training
Workplace investigations are a core service. You must bring investigation experience or the commitment and aptitude to develop this skill quickly.
Who You Are
An established practitioner with experience serving external clients in a consulting, advisory, legal, or independent practice setting
Someone with an existing or emerging client base, professional network, or referral relationships you can continue to develop at Resonance
Entrepreneurial and self-directed, comfortable building a book of business with firm support
Skilled at handling sensitive, emotionally complex matters with neutrality and discretion
A strong writer, producing clear reports, assessments, findings, and client communications
Analytical, ethical, and able to navigate ambiguity and complex workplace dynamics
Trauma-informed and people-centred in your approach
Education & Designations
Not all required, but commonly expected or beneficial:
Degree in law, organizational psychology, conflict resolution, or a related field
Licence to practise law in New Brunswick or another Canadian jurisdiction (asset)
CPHR (or in progress) or equivalent HR designation (asset)
ADR or mediation certification (asset)
Investigation training (harassment investigations, trauma-informed interviewing, etc.)
Advanced facilitation or OD training (asset)
Additional Assets (Not Required)
Bilingualism (English/French)
Proximity to Saint John, NB for in-person collaboration
